The ad writes itself: You need WD-40 a lot more often than you have WD-40 on hand. Actually carrying around a whole can of the world's most iconic loosening liquid is cumbersome. What if there was another way? Now there is!

Yes, that is WD-40 in a Tide-style pen. The size is perfect for carrying in a pocket or leaving in a center console, ensuring you are always prepared for the day a hinge betrays you and turns squeaky. A small-scale problem solver in a big world with so many things to get stuck.

While the idea of putting a lubricant in a pen may seem like a gimmick, the applicator design actually makes a lot of sense for smaller spot uses or in a situation where the overrun that comes with a typical spray from a can could create a problem. That makes for an obvious strength around the house, but it can also come in handy when working in tight spaces around a shop, too. The drawback is that the pen applicator does not allow a user to as easily soak a more complicated problem, like a seized lug bolt, in a weapons-grade volume of the stuff before getting to work.

The pen has apparently been marketed as a household cleaning product in the past, but now it is available as an actual delivery tool for WD-40's more traditional uses. If nothing else, a new form of WD-40 applicator means something else for Hank Hill to add to his belt. One would imagine that the WD-40 pen would get a second, smaller holster.
